dorodango

Hikaru dorodango is a recent craze in Japanese school yards. Apparently it's an absorbing task, one that anyone can pick up. There are even competing, previously undisclosed techniques.

(I stole this post from metafilter. just thought it was cool for kids.

grubmle

hey ya
long time since i posted so here's the LD:
- went to a play last night. my mate rick was in it. actually, it's not really a play. It's called Speak Truth To Power. Bit of a horrorshow really. It's based on the book about the people around the world who have risked life and limb to stand up for truth and human rights, so as you can probably imagine, the stories were pretty intense.
The play took place in the Daegu Artist's Collective, a space purchased by some longterm expats for jamming and partying and whatnot. The palce was pretty hot, but it was clean and the toilets didn't stink (a very rare thing here).
Also, I bought an iPod. hey big spender. IT does this wonderful thing where you plug it into your computer and it automatically updates its music library from your iTunes library on the comp. problem is, it automatically deletes song too. I can't figure out how to get it to only add. Silly apple is being too helpful and automating too much stuff. Fuck em! My mission right now is figruing out how to get the songs of this little zippy drive and onto my iPod without wiping all the songs that are already there. I am grumpy about this. Also I am a little hungover and I don't know what to have for dinner and it is hot and blah blah blah.

Anyway, back to effort

what do i have to say

Nothing much right now. I'm just downloading some music trying to figure out how I can upgrade my PC to Windows XP. You see, it turns out that the Apple iPod is not compatible with Win98, so my ggigabytes of information are kinda trapped inside a dinosaur in tarpit. Pity really, cos there's some good stuff I'd like to take with.
'Ahhh,' you say, ' But Glenn, aren't you getting caught up in possessions?'
Yes, of course. Piss off :)

time for some linkages

Firstly, here is a neat thing I saw on Metafilter - it's a 1minute video of a bullet passing through some things in very slow motion. Turns out it's a Korean Ad
Also, some neato games: Warning Forever, which is a spaceship shoot 'em up against a repeatedly regenerating boss who learns how you killed him and adds parts to compensate for next time. Neato! And then there's Zen Bondage where you hve to tie a rope around some blocks. Actually I didn't enjoy it so much, I'm just putting it here so I can check it again later. Then there's SWARM. Pick up people and drop them on the ground. Great stress relief.
Anyway, I don't really have time to arse around so I'm gonna do some work.
